Stewards of The Earth

The Lord God took the man and put him in the garden of Eden to work it and keep it. Genesis 2:15

I have been stirred this day by God’s Spirit, by the beauty of the evening sky and this world beneath it.

I am moved by the thought of what our God has given us, and by the greatness of the blessings He poured out when He created this world through His wisdom and power.

It uplifts me, to know His deep love for us, His children, and to sense His deep pride in the incredible creation which He bore us into.

What God has given us is greater than we can understand. Can we truly value the amazing gift of our life? Or, measure the incalculable blessings that He placed here upon the Earth?

Because, we were given skills and an intelligence like no other, we were elevated to live differently than all the other creatures that exist here.

Not as conquerers, or as selfish and greedy Lords. But, as those who live according to God’s love and understanding. As His servants, doing good and sharing in the bounty of this world.

God has called us to be as His stewards upon this Earth. That we should respect and care for it. To do our duty as God’s children.

Not as those who would, in negligence, harm it for their own profit. But that we might care for it as God’s precious creation for the good of our species, and equally, for the good of all that lives here.

We have been tasked with the responsibility of keeping this planet in good condition, so that all might prosper through its good condition

Also, so that we might love and honor it, because it is God’s precious creation

In recent times, we have learned how significantly our health is connected to the condition of the habitat of this earth; That we are vitally linked with all the conditions and life that surrounds us.

The health of this world is our collective health manifested.

And we see now, in these times, how we are failing in this God given responsibility. It seems clearly evident to many, but to others it is not that important.

By failing in our responsibility as stewards, we dishonor God, and bring needless harm to this earth.

We are beginning to create a greater peril for our own species, especially towards the poor and needy. Our God demands better from us, He understands what might happen.

As He has done from the dawning of time, He encourages us to flee from our errors. To honor Him in all that we do, by serving Him responsibly with love.

It is a daunting task, but one that each of us can play a part in

God is always just and forgiving.  He will help us overcome what we are causing

Each of us was created to be a good steward of our home, this Earth.

May we work together at this task so that all would benefit, and so that God’s love would abound. 3/1/2024

Share God’s Love

“Beloved, let us love one another, for love is of God. He who does not love does not know God, for God is love.”  1 John 7-8

I am nothing if I don’t love. My words are empty, and my deeds, hollow.

All my efforts, be they great or small, are all a waste of time if they are not done in love.

When I allow God to work through me, His love pours out freely; always adding to life and never tearing it down in any way.

For love is willing to give and sacrifice for others. It always has good intentions while allowing the Lord to make a difference through our lives.

I wish I had more love in me and could give as the Lord commands

What is it inside of me that holds so tightly to things and refuses to give when it is in my power to do so?

What is the gain in hoarding things, when they will all be swept away from me someday? Why do I fail to act, when I plainly see needs all around me?

How amazing it is that love lasts forever. Giving love is eternal, and the effects of it ripple out through time. Even affecting those we may never see or know.

Love is hard to give to those who don’t act in love. But, Jesus says we must. We must pray for those who selfishly use us, and give to those in need, even if we could justify not doing so.

In truth, we all come up short of God’s standard of good. But that should never slow us from trying. If we ask Him, He will show us many good ways to share His love and forgiveness.

It was once said, “The ones who are strong should bear up the weak”. Let your strengths and interests be used to help others. Acting with love can be one of the easiest things to do when given with kindness and consideration

Never give to get gain for yourself and take no accounts of your good deeds.

For false motives and stoking our own pride blunt the affect of God’s love. Remember it is not about ourselves, but about living well before God, so His light can shine through us towards others.

If there is anything we can hope to gain back, it is joy. For it is more blessed to give than to receive.

Our lives are truly like a vapor. We are here one day and are carried off from the next. Nothing we have, can we take with us after our life

By giving of ourselves to others, with love, we can help build God’s eternal strength and blessings into His people; And thus allow His message and glorious light to shine out to a darkened world.

The love of our God in Jesus Christ seems beyond reason to most of the world. But His love is the foundation upon which we all live. God’s love will not stop. He will never stop giving and we should not, too.

Remember His Son, Jesus Christ, who gave His own life for us on the cross. He offered His life as a sacrifice so that we could have our sins forgiven. So that we could step away from the sentence of death that hung over us into God’s glorious light and life.

Praise God for His grace and mercy, and for His goodness and love that He has shown us all the days of our life. Let us who trust and believe in Him follow His example all of our days here on this earth.

Fellow Believers, shine the light of God’s love through your life. Let His good Spirit bring fullness into your life, for the benefit of many all around you.   6/18/2005

Children in the Marketplace

“To what, then, can I compare the people of this generation? What are they like? They are like children sitting in the marketplace and calling out to each other: ‘We played the pipe for you, and you did not dance; we sang a dirge, and you did not cry.’”  Luke 7:31-32

Our God in Christ once described this generation of ours

He spoke of the one that inhabited the world during His time on earth and also the ones which dwell in the World to this day

He described them like spoiled children who whined and complained about other people.

They did not restrain themselves from judging others as mean and unthoughtful.

But at the same time, they placed themselves in a good light, and told of the wonderful things they did that had not been appreciated

How natural it is to see ourselves as the heroes and good actors, but to describe those around us in less than flattering ways. Or, even to go as far as judging them as evil doers and dangerous

How easy it is to elevate our deeds and views above others and to cast judgement against any and all that may disagree or be indifferent

But God says, our wisdom is proven right by it’s deeds

Jesus saw this tendency in the people of His time. He listened to those who opposed Him, while proclaiming their own righteousness; and felt the hatred as they judged Him as evil and a sinner

He watched them as they plotted against Him, while they argued against His Words and His ministry

Jesus listened, as they pronounced His miraculous works of healing and teaching, sin

They became so enraged at His actions, that threatened their ways, they became determined to have Him murdered. And when they ultimately carried out their plan, they called their actions righteous and defended it as necessary to save their nation

We are all described as God’s children

Our lives are a gift from God

He instructs us by His Word to live good and righteous lives before Him. Gos asks us to trust in Him above all things

We are not to pass judgement upon others, but to act wisely, and to live peaceably among all people

When we elevate ourselves above others, we enter dangerous territory. For we are to be God’s servants, and should carefully regard our place before Him

In these times there are things that amplify the voices of our ‘spoiled children.’ They multiply the messages that only serve to divide and weaken us.

The result of this has caused hatred and distrust to overrun our country. It has caused disruption across the entire world

But worst of all, it leads us away from living a life that Christ calls us to

There is room for discussion of the things that God has called us to. But it has now become more difficult to speak sensibly to one another

It is impossible to bring peace when literally millions of selfish voices scream hate and nonsense. It is hard to respect eachother, when complaint and judgement is encouraged to rule above love and understanding

Unfortunately, the voices of sense, goodness, even those led by God’s own Spirit are becoming lost in all the noise, and in the drama

God’s Word is eternal and it will never be extinguished. but there are many places where it cannot be truly found these days.   5/5/2024

Live a Life of Faith

Therefore, my beloved brethren, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your labor is not in vain in the Lord. 1 Corinthians 15:58

May your faith be strengthened this day, and your trust in God made sure, so that all your doubts would be cast away and your hope in Him, increased.

Purify your faith. Cast off all fears and trust in Him. Set your doubts aside, and look at the big picture

Allow God to work in your life through the doorway of your faith, so that you might have abundant hope and obtain the precious gift of peace

May your faith be built upon truth as you apply God’s wisdom to all the choices in your life. Set your course upon the good news of the Gospel of Christ. For in Jesus, we all find our way. By His grace He can lighten the weight that hangs over our lives, for He is just to forgive us our sins

He will lift up all those who have faith in Him, and bring joy to those who have been heavily burdened. For we will be purified through His sacrifice, and granted eternal life, because He offered Himself up to die on the cross for our sins.

May your faith become strong and sure. Don’t allow yourself to become confused by divisive arguments which cannot be resolved, or easily understood. Instead, put all things to the test by God’s wisdom and by His Word. For God is the creator of the moral framework we live in. He holds all truth and is the revealer of all the mysteries of life through His Spirit. He will illuminate us as we grow in faith and are able to bear it.

May your faith be made genuine, so that every context of your life would focus towards God. Place yourself upon that solid foundation as you live a life in honesty and commitment before Him.

Turn towards God, live each moment before Him

Pray each day, and keep God close to you both night and day

Lift up the name of Jesus Christ with praise. Consecrate your feet and hands to your faith so that you might glorify God in all that you do

Trust in His Word, and in His promises. For there is nothing in all of creation; no work or earthly endevour greater, than a life lived full in faith for their creator

So be renewed each day, so that your faith becomes evident to all as a testimony to God’s goodness and glory. Let His truth, love, and mercy abound and shine forth through your life before the world.   9/23/2007
